093B Gowran Park Golf Club M'dnThe Raceday Stewards interviewed C.T. Keane, rider of Sindagan, trained by J.P. Murtagh, concerning his riding in the last 100 yards where he appeared to ease his mount without good reason possibly costing him second place. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he put down his whip and just rode hands and heels to the line. However, he accepted under questioning that his riding did appear to get more vigorous in the last two strides when the eventual second came alongside him. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found the rider was in breach of R212A(iv)(a) by failing to achieve his best possible placing having eased his riding and having considered his clean record, they suspended him for seven racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee.
